So, my first-born, my baby is officially considered a “tween”, well … actually on Tuesday (Let the drama begin!) , but we’ve already done all the birthday stuff. She moved up to her new class at church with all the other tweens and said she loved it. Where did the time go?
K Belle,
I remember this little one that consumed my life. Every waking hour I was taking care of you or reading books about how to be a perfect mommy for you. You would cry because you wanted your mama … ME, not crying because you just met the Jonas Brothers. I know it’s hard to imagine now, but you preferred me over anyone.
You loved being outside and you were curious about everything.
At two, you still had barely any hair, but, as you can see, we made do. You loved playing with your MagnaDoodle, which is how you learned to spell your name, recognize shapes, and more, thanks to your daddy. And did I mention how much you sang? ALL THE TIME!
You melted my heart with your big blue eyes and cute, little curls.
I have to mention how creative you were and are. Here is your crawfish masterpiece that you made at a family crawfish boil. Despite the fact that these are just the heads of dead, boiled crawfish, it’s still pretty cute. But, not only did you excel in this type of art, but have always been a great little artist, singer, and now, musician.
And the smartness … girl, you are a little genius … the only kindergartener at your school to participate and earn a trophy for accelerated reading. You obviously were reared by well-read and knowledgeable parents.
You have always been a daddy’s girl. It’s OK. I don’t mind. You two just have a special relationship and I’m so glad you have this bond with him.
But, hey, who’s yo’ mama? Don’t forget about dear ol’ mom who loves you more than you can imagine.
You are a beautiful little girl …
And although you don’t care for them, I adore your abundance of freckles.
You will always be my baby, no matter how old you get.
You are growing up too fast! I don’t understand how you can keep getting older, but I’m staying the same age.
Happy Birthday! I love you.
I’m staying the same age too! What a coincidence!
Nice post and Happy Birthday to the beautiful Bayou Belle!
Happy Birthday Miss Belle!
Enjoy her Mama Belle – oh they grow up too quickly!
Mama Belle,
Are you having comment problems? Oh I hope someone is not being rude to you! I think you are AWESOME!
I love her curls and her freckles…she is beautiful…but good luck with the TEEN TWEEN thing!lol!
She is STUNNING. Really. I love the sweet little picture of her with the big eyes and curly hair…ok, I guess that is all of them, but the one where she is sitting on the blue flowered chair is just precious.
You are blessed to have her, and she is blessed to have such an incredible Mama.
Sending out a big Happy Birthday to your K Belle! I think 11 has to be the best age ever…
Where does the time go?
Yet, you’ve found a way to freeze time, even for just a “click”.
Good memories! The rich stuff that life is made of….
Blessed With 5,
I’m moderating my comments now, so it takes a little time for them to show up … you know, because of the little incident I had with the anonymous commenter.
I’m assuming that’s what you’re talking about. Or is it because I haven’t had a ton of comments lately? There’s nothing I can do about that one … Just writing my normal stuff. Hopeing it keeps the peeps coming back for more.
OK, sorry, I’ not going to have people coming back if I keep spelling words incorrectly. It’s HOPING, not HOPEING.
She’s a beautiful little girl, or, I’m sorry tween (they get so sensitive about that one). My baby turns 9 tomorrow so I’m feelin’ ya on this one! Happy Birthday little miss Belle!!
Well, as I was stalking your blog today, I found this post that SOMEHOW I missed in July?!?
Adorable! The pictures are just precious. Happy Birthday to your little girlie 2 months late 🙂
