The Still Rising Foundation

The Still Rising Foundation resources ministry-minded young women and serves families of pediatric bone marrow transplant patients, thus, honoring the memory of Katie Gaspard.

After a lengthy battle with a rare blood disease and its complications, Katie Gaspard, at the age of sixteen,  passed from this life on July 20, 2017.

Katie’s life was one well-lived. Even in the face of overwhelming circumstances and tremendous pain, she was fearless. At a time when she could have had a completely inward focus, Katie remained unselfish, loving, and compassionate towards others, their trials, and their suffering.

Even as a young child, Katie’s greatest desire was to tell others about Jesus. She planned to attend a ministry school, in preparation for whatever God called her to do. One of Katie’s greatest joys in her short life was attending Christian camps and conferences.

As her parents, we want to honor her memory, striving to do our very best to make her story known to all who will listen, and to continue her legacy of making Jesus famous. Our scholarship fund provides resources to young women who aspire to serve in ministry. Similarly, we also offer scholarships for young women to attend the same types of camps and conventions Katie enjoyed so much.

While inpatient at Texas Children’s Hospital, we saw a tremendous need in the lives of fellow bone marrow transplant families. It is our mission to serve those families in whatever capacity we are able, as often as we are able.

You, too, can be a part of honoring Katie’s legacy. More info on that coming soon.
