I’m posting this because I’ve had a lot of questions about the fast I’m doing and I wanted to update you on my progress.

First of all, always consult the Lord when you plan on doing a fast because believe me, you won’t make it if you try to do it on your own power.
Secondly, don’t do The Daniel Fast to lose weight. That’s just a by-product of doing the fast. Honestly, we are fasting for a financial breakthrough and just getting closer to God. And get this, we got two unexpected checks in the mail that really helped us out. GOD IS FAITHFUL!
The details of The Daniel Fast can be found here. There’s a whole blog devoted to it. It’s basically only fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds, and whole grains. No caffeine. No sugar. No meat. No dairy. The whole fast is based on how Daniel refused to eat from the king’s table and chose to eat, actually the Word says “vegetables and water,” and he became stronger and wiser than any of the king’s wise men. He was actually later on appointed as King Nebuchadnezzar’s right-hand man. Go and read more at the blog if you’re interested.
We just finished Day Eight. So far, so good. I’m not gonna say it hasn’t been hard. It has! And we’re not even halfway through. We’ve each had headaches, which seem to have subsided. We’ve both been really tired, but seem to be coming out of that too. I won’t mention the strange bodily functions. I’ll just say … you’ll have to find out for yourself. Actually, Beau has lost nine pounds since we’ve been back from vacation. I’m not sure if I’ve lost any … maybe a couple of pounds.
We have each found lots of new foods that we enjoy, like homemade marinara sauce, grilled eggplant, homemade hummus and Ezekiel 4:9 bread … even tortilla chips and salsa from the health food store (No preservatives or additives are allowed either. You must read every label.).  We’ve also learned that vegetarians don’t have many options when eating out, so we mostly eat at home. Anyway, there ya’ go!
