1. The fact that I was supposed to be doing Slim-Fast this week and failed miserably today due to my starvation and love for grilled shrimp wraps, french fries, and Little Debbie nutty bars. Curse you, Little Debbie … who by the way, wouldn’t be so “little” if she ate her own delectable baked goods. (Tip for the day: If you buy the 100-calorie packs of snacks and eat two packs, it counts as a regular full-calorie package of the original snack, which you might as well have bought in the first place. Dummy.)
2. Finding out that the girls’ dance costumes are going to cost $600 combined with the $280 recital fee, which is due by December 19th. Not sure how that’s going to work. Ummm … HELLO … Christmas.
3. Beau is still working at 10:50 pm.
4. Girls didn’t get to bed until 9:00 pm. They should be a joy to wake up in the morning.
5. K Belle has harassed me no less than 12 times about getting bangs cut a la Miley Cyrus, which I tried to explain would not look like Miley Cyrus’ because K Belle has curly hair. Hair cut finally scheduled for Saturday. We’ll see how that turns out.
6. Looking in the fridge and still seeing pumpkin cheesecake, cornbread dressing, turnip au gratin, glazed carrots, and ham. Enough already.
7. Listening intently to the massive amount of background vocals and parts in the Christmas songs to be performed for Christmas production next weekend and trying to learn them all by tomorrow morning.
8. Still not having a babysitter for Friday night.
9. Needing to go grocery shopping, which I loathe.
10. Wanting to go to bed, but know that when Beau gets home, he’ll just wake me up and then I won’t be able to go back to sleep … so, might as well just wait up, even though I wanted to go to bed early tonight. Drats.
Whoa, their dance costumes are EXPENSIVE! Don’t they know there’s a recession/depression going on?
I’d babysit for you Friday night if I wasn’t a state away! Or two?
I’m with you on the eating thing. I was a maniac today! Pretzels – not so bad for you. Pretzels dipped in chocolate…. yeah, the way my day has gone!
I’ll watch the girls on Friday – just drop them off (bring their winter woolies feels like 2 degrees today).
Hugs!
Umm….Merry Christmas??
Keep your chin up and pray. Everytime I have that kind of day I just look up and say, “Lord, You are going to have to help me out here. I’m too small for all this.” It’s amazing how He manages to work it all out for me.
I’ll pray for you too!
(And I thought I was the only one buying all those Nutty Buddy bars….)
My 9 y/o wanted bangs, too. Now that she has them, she doesn’t want them anymore. Dang that Miley Cyrus! I am cleaning out the leftovers today and dreading my trip to the grocery store, too!
Have a great day.
Ya, I’m not doing so well with the diet thing either. I was SO good the other day until I went berserk and ate chips and 1/2 a bagel. I couldn’t help myself.
I understand your pain. I just had to fork up almost $300 for dance related expense, and I still have to buy tickets for the show. This weekend the children’s Christmas music is over and then the next weekend the adult choir (A Manger Suite by M.W.Smith). My house is in chaos due to a “minor” construction project that has brought “major” frustration to me that my husband has not completed. Oh and to top things off my sweet baby girl has a birthday in 24 days – I know this because she gives me the countdown every morning on the way to school. Praying God will send you some peace and rest among the chaos.
Yikes. That’s well, that’s a list. $600???? really for sequins and ruffles?
I passed out for a little bit after reading #2!!!…still not fully recovered.
Little Debbie…she is evil. If it makes you feel better, I ate 13 (I counted) monster cookies yesterday. When I put my underarmour on this morning at 5:50 am I literally looked like a “stuffed sausage” 🙂 If I were a better friend, I would have emailed you a picture of it…to make your day better 😉
Love ya Mama Belle.
i trickled on over here–reading the BlogHer ads every now and then–and woman, you crack me up! love your writing…
blessings,
suz (mom to 16 month old BGBB quadruplets)
Yucky! I hope today gets better!
Won’t it be great in a few years when the girls will be big enough to leave home alone! Of course at by that time we may be afraid to leave them home alone because of other reasons!
Hey, at least it was a GRILLED shrimp wrap! I would have gone with fried. 🙂
And Little Debbie is an evil, evil women… or girl… whatever she is.
Praying for you today. Why does December have to be so darn busy???
Whoa, those must be quite the costumes! Will the girls then be wearing them for Christmas day, New Years, Easter, and eventually their prom?! 🙂
Oh my, pumpkin cheesecake! Yum!
WOW! Now I am super duper happy that we do not do dance. And right now we are taking a gymnastics break, which is FREE! 🙂
Don’t be so hard on yourself either! Life’s too short not to enjoy a Nutty Bar or two.
Totally NOT understanding the dance costume thing.
Maddie’s was due this month as well. But I was lucky enough that she is only 1 child…and she is young enough, she won’t have any costume changes.
Why do they make it due right at Christmas???
Yikes! My daughter’s dance costume last year was $150 and I freaked. Are your girls performing on Broadway, ‘cuz that’s a lot of moolah!
Being a mom? It ain’t easy!
Hey!! Back off my friend the Nutty Bar!! 😉 I just might have eaten one for Brunch on a FEW occasions lately. But don’t tell anyone, k?!
One more tip, don’t buy ANY OTHER brand, b/c they are NOT your friend! Trust me! 🙂
