1. That K Belle had a dentist appointment at 9:00 this morning
2. That I was supposed to bake brownies last night, and then, didn’t have time to bake them this morning (cheated and picked them up at the bakery)
3. That I promised Beau I would iron a shirt for him to wear to parent orientation
4. Then, forgot said shirt in house, and after pulling out of the driveway, had to run back in and get it
5. That I had to return a costume today that I had rented for a video shootÂ
6. That I was supposed to pick Beau up and he would drop me off at orientation and then return with the girls later
7. Where I parked the truck once orientation was over, and even asked Beau, “Where did you park the truck?”, when I was the actual one that parked it
8. That I wanted to put some baking soda in my bath to soothe and help heal my poison ivy
9. That I wanted to do a special post for my 200th post
10. What number 9 was, until just now
And I hate to admit this … this has never happened in the history of our marriage … ummmmm … and I’m very embarrassed … but, I forgot to pay the electric bill. When Beau and I got home last night, because we were working late, the garage door wouldn’t open. We couldn’t figure out why. Then, he asked me, “Did you remember to pay the electric bill?” At this point, I was mortified and literally began to FREAK OUT! I forgot to pay the electric bill! IDIOT! Don’t worry, the electric man came by and took our payment and turned the electricity back on.
Seriously, I think I may be losing it! Although I know I’m not alone, my friend Sarah is too.
UPDATED: 11. Forgot to feed the dog this morning too. Just remembered that one.
It sounds as if you have a few to many things going on in your head. I was running into some of the same things . . . forgetting things here and there. I decided enough was enough and ordered one of those Mom Agenda planners. I sat down for a few hours one evening and put the entire school schedule and appointments in it. There is also room for reminders and kid due dates for school – projects and such.
I suggest maybe checking them out.
Everything will be o.k. just take a deep breathe and exhale slowly!
OK – I’m thinking we are all in trouble! I was headed home this afternoon to take my oldest to freshman orientation. I got in the wrong turn lane to head to school – without picking up my kid!

Seriously…this post makes me feel so much better. So glad I’m not the only one…but there goes my theory of blaming it on the Olympics…maybe its blogging…or the fact that we have a bazillion different things going on at one time?!? Yep, must be that.

I personally think it comes from stress, the same kinds of things happen to me all the time.
Freaks me out when I can’t find where my car is parked, telling myself the whole time “what kind of idiot can’t pay attention enough to know where they parked?!”
I think as caretakers (moms, wives, grandmothers, etc…) we just have too much on our plates sometimes and our brains can only handle so much!
I’m so laughing because I JUST came from Sarah’s site and read her forgetful post. 🙂 I LOVE having sisters to relate to! 🙂 Those are frustrating days – but they do happen to all of us!
At least in your previous post you actually liked the fact that the pioneers didn’t have electricity… 🙂 Maybe your subcounscience really wanted to jsut be a pioneer?

Last weekend, I did exactly the same thing as the brownies except it was potato salad. I remembered at MIDNIGHT that I didn’t even have the potatoes, so I went to the store and didn’t get to bed until after 2 am…before getting up at 6 for church! Upid-stay.
