I just have to give a shout-out to a great lady, La Petite Belle’s soccer coach, Coach Sarah.
She has been La Petite Belle’s coach for three years and La Petite Belle absolutely loves her to death. And she’s a lot better soccer player thanks to her coach.
Last night was the team’s end of the season party … pizza, cookie cake, balloons, and of course, trophies. What more could a kid ask for.
This is the last year Coach Sarah will be La Petite Belle’s coach (she’s moving) and the reality of this hit La Petite Belle tonight.
I noticed she was laying in her bed, quietly … no TV, no radio, nothing. Turns out she was crying.
I asked her what was wrong and she (very dramatically, with major tears) says, “I don’t want Coach Sarah to move. She’s been my soccer coach for three years.”
I go through the whole explanation of how people have to move sometimes … BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. She continues to cry and will not stop. I continue to comfort her.
She says, “I’m going to miss her smile. And every time I fell down, she always picked me up. And her daughter is my best friend on the team.”
She even said that Coach Sarah was the 5th best thing that ever happened to her, after Jesus, her family, Roxy Belle, and her good friend, Maddie. That’s a pretty high ranking.
Crying continued for about 30 minutes.
Finally, we called Coach Sarah and La Petite Belle was able to tell her that she loved her. And we all agreed to continue to keep in touch.
So, Coach Sarah, all I can say is “Thank You!” That really doesn’t even say how much you’ve impacted my daughter’s life.
