You know what cold weather means?
Big, bulky sweaters
Sweatshirts
Track suits
Jackets & Blazers
I’m thankful for these particular clothing items because they hide the extra poundage I’ve put on lately.
Example …
This week I committed to waking up about earlier to either run (which I realized I can’t do because of how dark it is at that time right now) or ride the exercise bike that sits in our living room.
Wednesday morning was my first day of this commitment. I did great!
Thursday was the second day of this commitment. I hit snooze and told myself I would run in the afternoon while La Petite Belle was at soccer practice. Then, the weather was too cold, so I couldn’t run. Then, I ate two pieces of stuffed bread, one chocolate chip cookie, one magic cookie bar, two pumpkin squares, four pieces of pizza, and of course, a little salad. Then, I decided that since I ate all those unhealthy items that there was no point in riding the bike when I got home.
We’ll see how Friday morning goes. I’ve got to get this pizza and cookie weight off me.
Until then, I’ll be that woman wearing sweatshirts to every event.
Sweatshirts are great for covering up my muffin top. They are my SAHM uniform for the next 6 months. (Working on losing that last 20 lbs before next Spring.)
Good luck with the “program”. I can’t get motivated either. Well, for one or two days I am really excited and then I lose it. Sweaters and sweatshirts are soooo comfy and cooler weather is much better than heat and humidity.
I feel your pain, completely. I caught a glimpse of myself in the full mirror today and it ruined my whole day, thank goodness for longer shirts!
Today I’m actually going to walk ON the treadmill instead of just walk past it! I’m thinking Spark People is soundin’ better and better, I haven’t visited that site in forever, much less did anything with it.
You are so funny! I thought you looked great in the pictures you posted a few days ago.
I think you are too hard on yourself! There are days that you just neeeeeeeed comfort food!
Hugs
This post is a CLASSIC! I hate exercising…. and the guilt is even worse now that I need to be setting an example for my daughter…..
Come, Lord Jesus.
You and me both…
I’m with you. I started the HFTH thing this week and have done fairly well with exercising, but my sweet tooth isn’t helping me yet.
Wait – HOW is it you have weather too cold to run? We’ve only gotten as low as 65 degree, and that was at like 4 in the morning.
I could use a break from the mugginess. Though I doubt it would bolster me to exercise either. 🙂
Yep, I do the same thing! Although, I am a COMPLETELY different person in the morning. I loose all sense and motivation. I need to work on that ;).
I think you look fabulous, though!
Loved the cartoon – that’s so me. I’ve been trying to get up at 5:30 every morning to exercise, but it is a real drag. I don’t know when it will start to be something I look forward to. (If ever…)
Good luck!
I can’t tell you how hard I am laughing right now. And I heart you for listing the food that you ate…makes me feel better about myself, because I can put away the pizza like nobody’s business.
That cartoon is hilarious…I might have to steal it from you for my HFTH post.
FunNAY! I’m glad you threw that salad in there though, for good measure. {I would’ve done the same thing… you know, to make myself feel better about the whole Stuff Ya Self ’08. I say that ’cause I’ve been there. 🙂 }
And I myself and filled with gratitude for sweater weather. If you can’t trim the fat, hide the fat.
I made those pumpkin bars with cream cheese frosting that Sarah posted and I have no will power against them. 🙂
I know JUST what you mean…..There are so many good foods this time of year 🙂
OMGOSH…that is so funny, and totally me! I love it…we are so much alike! 🙂
One year ago I was smack in the middle of trying to lose weight. Me and a buddy joined weight watchers together and we held each other accountable each and every day. This past March (on my birthday) I decided I was done losing weight and whatever I weighed that day was my new goal weight (I was in my acceptable weight range anyway). I lost 45lbs and have been successful so far with keeping it off. I did not and still do not do much exercise simply because….
I HATE IT!!!!
I can’t get up early to workout – especially during the fall and winter months when it is still ohdarkhundred.
Good luck girl!
This comic is the story of my life.
Seriously.
Sigh…
You’re certainly not the ONLY one glad the cold weather is here. My hips will be in hiding till next summer. 🙂
Good luck with your program!! I know the feeling. . . glad winter is here. :o)
Amazing! We share a similar diet!
I hear ya. I just tried those pumpkin bars just yesterday. Sinful things.
I'll do it with you!!! (by faith I say that *L*) I've been so unmotivated doing it alone though. I'm talking about the lack of motivation that means I have yet to do my first workout! I figure it takes about 3 months to really show drastic change or semi drastic anyway. I need to firm up like nobody's business. I've got a trampoline and I'm not afraid to use it – I'm too lazy lately to use it *L* I whined God, what fun exercise can I do? He said "jump" and I thought oh yeah, that fun trampoline out there laying against the mudroom wall!" but have I listened? nope. SO are you working out M- W & F?? Seriously if I thought I wasn't alone I'd be way more likely to do it.
