Swiper, no swiping. Aw man … Swiper swiped some of my little girl’s childhood away.
That mean ol’ Swiper.
For those of you who think I may have taken up recreational drugs and have not a clue of what I’m talking about, you obviously did not have young children in 2000 and beyond.
My youngest, La Petite Belle, was addicted to Dora, the Explorer. Swiper was a sneaky little fox who swiped stuff from Dora or others.
Brilliant concept, right? Who wouldn’t love to hate a sneaky, masked fox who tromped around Mexico, chasing after a little girl and her monkey?
Every day … day in … day out … it was Dora.
La Petite Belle had everything Dora, and the child even looked like Dora. What in the world?
Imagine the sadness that ensued when this girl brought her Dora downstairs that she’d had since she was just a toddler, to sell at our garage sale.
First of all … no one would’ve bought this doll anyway. She was way too torn up. And, secondly, why would she ever want to give up such a treasure?
This doll has gone EVERYWHERE with us … vacations, sleepovers, Nana’s house, etc. She didn’t leave home without her. Dora has slept beside her for a long time.

This made my little mama heart sad.
I don’t just have one daughter growing up too fast. I have two.
So, Mama took Dora from the garage sale and snuck her back home, where she will be washed and find her new home at the top of La Petite Belle’s closet.
Although she said she “really didn’t need it” anymore, she’ll thank me.
Let’s not even talk about K Belle with her Winnie the Pooh, which she still sleeps with, and would probably fight tooth and nail if I ever tried to take it from her. Ah, the difference in your children makes life so interesting!
