I love seeing my youngest playing in the leaves. He loves them and always picks leaves up when we’re out.
Hi there! We’re starting to have really cold mornings over here. Frost everywhere! But, sometimes when the children wake up early, I can persuade them back into my bed for a few minutes before getting up, dressed, going outside to scrape ice off the car, etc. Anyway,it makes me think of this poem:

I guess my favorite things about fall are all of the wonderful colors and that crisp feeling that’s in the air (I live in Idaho, remember) I also love that the kids realize that Christmas is getting close and are starting to get excited for it. As lovely and gorgeous as the first door was… come on my dog would have barreled through and broke every one of those pretty candles! I love the simpicity of YOUR decorating. Very fall. What I love most about fall is that I can wear big sweatshirts and turtleneck sweaters and my Ugg boots!!! And cozy pajamas and break out the heating blaket and have fires and the SMELL of apple crisp baking in the oven… Hot chocolate. Decorateing for Halloween. Watching the kids play in the leaves. Soups and crockpot meals. CHILI. Football. Macy’s thanksgiving parade.

OK, Fall. My favorite thing that happens is quite unpredictable. When I smell the random smell of leaves burning it is such a nice surprise. I also like the chill in the air and the awesome colors. Fall is my favorite time of year and in coastal-ish Alabama, it just hasn’t been as pretty as living near the Appalachian Mountains. So fall has been a bit bitter sweet this year. I will enjoy going back home to visit soon!

I love fall because it is another change. I get so excited to have winter end and summer start and then the opposite happens. I am ready for the garden to be done, the shorts to be packed away and the warm clothes brought out. The weather is by far my most favorite thing about Fall (temp is just right). When we lived in the mountains of VA, my second most favorite (behind the weather) was the changing of the leaves…nothing is more breath-taking than seeing the mountains colored red, orange, and brown.
