La Petite Belle is always asking me to lay with her “just for five minutes.” She really likes to cuddle and just talk right before bed. So, once again, last night she asks again.
Now, you know I’m getting ready for vacation and if you’ve been reading my blog for a while you also know that I clean like a mad woman right before I leave to go on any trips. Why? No one knows. It’s just what I do.
So I was very busy cleaning bathrooms last night, so I told her that I couldn’t. She says, “But I really just want to cuddle with my Mama.” (trying to pour on the guilt and normally this would work, but I was way too overwhelmed with everything to do) She says, “I just don’t want to be all alone.”
And I said my standard, “but you’re not alone because you know Jesus is with you.”
La Petite Belle: “I know Mama, but I want someone to cuddle with and sleep with me.”
Me: “I know and Jesus is always with you.”
La Petite Belle: “I know Mama, but don’t you know Jesus never sleeps. He’s always watching us.”
I thought … hmmm … you got a point there kid.
I discovered this worship song this morning that I now love. It’s so true … He does watch over us always. He doesn’t sleep. He’s our hope and the only truth and light for us. And there’s no sweeter name than His … Jesus!
I do the SAME thing before we leave for an extended amount of time. OR if we’re having a party, I feel the NEED to clean things that no one will ever see…I have no idea why.
