And, here I go setting out to prove it.
After my high-school crush, Jon Bon Jovi threw his hip out (OK … he really just pulled a muscle) at a concert this past week while performing “Livin’ On a Prayer,” it was even more evident to me that I’m aging. When you see such people start to lose their looks and obvious muscle control, you can’t help to think that you may be aging too.
I try to take care of my skin and my body. But, really it’s all up to the hand you’ve been dealt … genetics. Honestly, you can only do so much. A little moisturizer and exercise helps a bit. A bit. But, I’m telling you the ultimate factor in a person’s aging is genetics.
I will prove this theory.
I purchased these items on my recent shopping trip.
Note the claims.
According to these claims, I will see visible results from these creams instantly. Then, in two weeks, I will see smoother skin. Then, in four weeks, I will see firmer skin on my face & upper eye lids, and my wrinkles and fine lines will be reduced under my eye area.
You ready for this?
Prepare yourself.
Here I am au naturale. Well, at least on my face.
I tried to make an expression where you could see the wrinkles around my mouth, on my forehead, and under my eyes. Anything for my peeps.
I normally do use a moisturizer every day, but not one that makes these huge claims.
So, here goes. I started last night with the first dose of cream and will report back in two weeks and then four.
I promise you that I will look exactly the same.
YES! I agree that those products are a bunch of bull! But they are so much more than that! Please don't expose your body to such toxins just to prove a point! Go to http://www.ewg.org. The Environmental Working Group is a non-profit organization that keeps an eye on toxic chemicals in our personal care products, food, etc. and tests those products for the chemicals so we can be more informed. They do lots of research and studies and have no products to sell or to benefit from. Here is the link on your night cream. BEWARE!!! http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/product/124983/L%27Or%26%23233%3Bal_Advanced_RevitaLift_Night_Cream/
And here is the link to the double lifting cream. http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/product/124873/L%27Or%26%23233%3Bal_Advanced_RevitaLift_Double_Lifting_Tub/
There are much more healthy and pure products out there that can truly help without all the toxins. My mother uses a great skin care line that has helped keep her skin so tight and more beautiful than ever even after having lost almost 100 pounds! So better, safer products DO exist!
So I'm just saying… You know that my ministry is helping women/mothers take control of their health and become wise consumers… just looking out for you, girl.
Love you! And I LOVE your blog!!!
Besides… what wrinkles? Your skin is BEAUTIFUL!!! (I zoomed way in on your picture) Not one blemish or scar! You are soooo blessed!!! Everyone gets the forehead wrinkles when they raise their eyebrows, so I don't see what you are seeing. Sometimes the enemy can try to cause us to see ourselves as opposite as what we are… beautiful daughters of God. 🙂
UM, I have to agree with Sera, that you are BEAUTIFUL. I do know how you feel, my body and I can't seem to agree on what Aging gracefully means! Now, having said those too things, I am going to check out that website Sera suggested…
PS Freckles ROCK!
You are a hoot…..for real?! You are totally raising your eyebrows to make those wrinkles–so that does not equal wrinkles in my book 🙂
And all of us have freckles. Did you see the Today show 3rd hour when Hoda & Kathy Lee did "Au Naturale"?
There's a reason why they say "If the barn needs paintin'…..paint it"…."two coats"…. 🙂
Girl, you crack me up.
Has anyone ever told you that La Petite Belle looks like the cute lil' girl that plays on the Tide commercial. Adorable. Really. 🙂
You're hilarious!
Um…honestly, I don't see any wrinkles…
If you are determined to fight aging, though, go to Bath and Body Works and get their Wexler products. They're pricy but they actually WORK. I used to have dark circles under my eyes BIG TIME. I used some Wexler stuff, and I don't even have to put concealer on. Seriously. AND I just found another awesome Wexler product (I may be misspelling this, too, btw) that takes bags away instantly from under your eyes. Because, yes, at 26 with little sleep and lots of stress, I do have bags.
I. Literally. Saw. The. Bags. Disappear. I thought I was crazy at first, but they work AMAZINGLY.
Anyway…long rant to say I heart Wexler!!
You look great without makeup. My mother has preached skincare to me since I was old enough furl my brow. She believes in suncreen, eye creme, and moisturizer. Her goal is to age gracefully (and be mistaken for my sister, but that's another story.)
Just have to say you look great without makeup. Never knew you had freckles and they look great on you!
