that confident, unafraid, woman that speaks so eloquently,
(like my girl, Sarah)
that everyone calls “classy” and “graceful,”
(Two icons of grace … Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn)
that sings like this,
that bakes cookies that look like this,
that is in amazing physical shape because she plays tennis every day with her friends, and wears cute little skirts like this,
that her daughters love to hang out with, just for fun,
that her husband always thinks is “hot,” even when she looks like this, … oh, yeah … that he also deeply respects,
that keeps her house spic-n-span with little effort and always has an organized home and closet,
(notice, this is just shoes)
that has a great sense of humor, and everyone loves to be with because she’s as funny or funnier than this.
(I’ll take being as funny as either one of these ladies, my favorites.)
Too much pressure. Excuse the feelings of inadequacy.
What was I thinking?
I’ll just stick with being me.
Please stick with you! We love you (well, what we know from your blog – I accept this is limited!)just as you are!
And as far as I’m concerned you are WAY ahead of Sarah Palin! The others I don’t know ‘cos I’m in UK and busy and just generally ill-informed. But from now on, if it helps, I will picture you gracefully and serenely drifting round the house in your tennis dresses, baking cookies, and making witty quips from time to time!
Excuse me? You’re one of those multi-talented, multi-gifted people, so let’s not be greedy! Seriously, this post reads almost like a poem. I could see a Sunday school teacher (or mom or youth leader) doing an exercise like this with girls, and then in the end, “forcing” them to list the special gifts that they possess, followed by a statement of “who I am in Christ.” Great post.
this is the cutest post ever! Love it! isn’t it hard sometimes to be thankful for who God made you to be? yet we are His workmanship right? I so enjoyed this post and wish I was as clever! but I am not and I have to stick with ME! and trust HIM to make something worthy out of me. thanks for making me think though, do some soul searching.
How funny – some of us wish we had the voice and class of a certain southern blogger. 🙂
Wow! Now that’s what a call a shoe collection.
I love Audrey Hepburn. I don’t know what happened to me, but I didn’t manage to get even a tough of that class and grace.
OK, if that shot of you in your glasses is your “bad” pic, you make me sick. I wish I looked that decent in glasses with no makeup. 🙂
This is such a cute and clever post! I have came to except that I will never have a post more brillant then yours. How’s that for inadequacy?
That is totally how I feel alot of days…human weakness I guess! 🙂
Oh my gosh! What a great post. You are too funny! LOL!
You are great just being you! Funny and cute and I always leave with a smile:)
Most of us would like to have YOUR voice and looks!
Just keep being you.
Speaking of tennis…do you know who Ashley Harkleroad is? We bought our house from her. Besides being a tennis-pro, she did a recent Playboy issue. So do you think that makes our house worth more or less???? lol
Ditto. On all the above. Girl.
I know I don’t know you very well yet, but I really think you pretty much HAVE all those things!
I haven’t seen your house, but I’ve seen you speak (and sing! WOW!) the apron is a matter of a Christmas present, you have a totally cute figure, I’ve seen your kids love you on videos, and I get a laugh every time I read you.
So there. 🙂
hmmmm. . .is it bad that I only have an inkling of 3 of those?! AND, they are the ones that my kids like me, my hubby likes me and I speak my mind. . not quite so eloquently as Sarah! The rest aren’t even on the radar!!!! I burn what I make, sing like a frog, need to start working out again and my shoes are currently taking over my closet instead of being nice and organized (hey, at least they are IN my closet, right?!) Too funny! I loved your choices as well.
Love,
Brandi
Ohhhhh…..I think you are simply fabulous the way you are, girl!!
If you were to ever become the woman who embodies such irritatingly perfect qualities with such ease, I will most certainly quit reading your blog. The perfection would drive the bajebbers out of me.;-)
I was going to say almost the same thing as Rach…if you turn into this perfect woman, then I’m pretty sure we can’t be friends anymore, even fake-bloggy friends. 🙂 Girl you are fabulous.
Gotta say I wouldn’t mind decorating cookies like that, though. Amazing.
I know I don’t know you that well but I kinda like you just the way you are! If you were perfect I’d be too skeered to read your blog! lol
I are awesome just as you are. You are all those things and more!
Girl this was so terrificly funny and clever. I must say I have a bit of blog-ability envy. 🙂
Where do you come up with this stuff? You crack me up!
I miss being listed on the readers – my bloggy friends forget to check in on me 🙁
Hugs

This is some serious blog-ability going on here!
So cute. And hoping the feelings of inadequacy leave you soon, because they are total lies. 🙂
I think you’ve got all of those down pat.
I have ALWAYS longed to be as classy and lady-like as Grace Kelley and Audrey Hepburn. I am a big boned girl so that was NEVER even a possibility. Hard to be delicate when you are built more like Queen Latifah. Oh well. My kids do like being with me so… that’s good, right?
OK, I think this is my favorite post of yours.
Brilliant, girl…truly brilliant.
