First off, I know I haven’t been my normal consistent blogging self with all the stuff going on in my life right now.
It felt so good to climb into my bed last night after the Ladies’ Christmas Party. I started feeling really bad the afternoon before the party and my throat felt like it was closing up and painful. I felt YUCK! I had to send someone to the store to get some Chloraseptic spray to numb my throat so that I could speak. I put on a good face by singing karaoke and line dancing and just plain running around. When I finally got home, I took some Nyquil and went to bed.
I slept late and even took a short nap. Throat still hurts and body aches a bit, but I’ll get over it. Although, I felt this way, I still had to get out and do some last-minute shopping with everyone else in this city. The traffic was horrific. The mall was packed. I couldn’t even get into Bath & Body Works, so I left the mall and shopped elsewhere. Still didn’t finish.
I showed up at home with Arby’s for dinner … so nutritious and delicious, kinda how all our meals have been lately.
La Petite Belle came to the table and I noticed she had a Christmas gift tag on her shirt.
When I looked more closely, I saw what it said …
“To: Jesus, From: Katie “(and that dark blot at the bottom is a heart).
“To: Jesus, From: Katie “(and that dark blot at the bottom is a heart).
She said, “It’s what I’m giving Jesus for Christmas.”
Now, this is not the first time she gives her heart to Jesus. She actually raises her hand to get saved every weekend or close to that. And we have tried to explain that she doesn’t have to go up to the altar to get saved every weekend, but we’re not going to squash her desire to make sure she’s right with God. She is very sensitive to the things of God and wants to please Him with all her heart. I just pray she stays that way.
Oh, that’s really sweet. If only Jesus had all our hearts this Christmas…
Hope you feel better.

Oh thats just so sweet and tender about your little one! My little guy, 6 years, also is connected with Jesus in more of a way than any of our other kids and he has asked Jesus to be in his little heart several times. The last time we explained to him that he doesn’t have to keep asking that once is perfect and we also told him that if he is asking because of the things he does wrong that he just has to ask for forgiveness of those things. I think he finally got it. But oh my gosh, its just so precious and like you, I want to make sure he keeps asking questions and keeps searching. Aren’t they just the best gifts ever???
Oh that’s good stuff. Good job, momma.
What a sweet girl! She has such a sensitive spirit, doesn’t she?
I hope that you get feeling better. How awful to have to go out and fight the mobs when you are feeling like that!
How sweet she is. It’s so nice when you start realizing that your kids are getting it. My 17 year old changed so much this summer. She’s been a Christian for a long time now, but the Lord really seemed to get to her through The International Youth Convention she attended. She feels God is calling her in to full time ministry. It’s so cool to see them getting fired up for Jesus.
That is awesome! And speaking from a mom of a grown girl who did the same thing……encourage her tender heart!! My girl has grown into such a wonderful young woman who loves the Lord completely!!
We had a daughter just like that! The more she grew in the Lord the more solid she became in her faith but a good book on that is ….Saved WIthout A Doubt by John MacArthur.
So sweet!
And so much more altruistic than my little girl, who has been known to ask for ‘seconds’ at the communion chalice – cringe!
She was only three and hasn’t done it again since!
You need to work this up for publication. Seriously.
I love how she’s making a heart with her hands. What a sweetie… the meek shall inherit the earth.
Yep, sounds like she gets it :o)
Now that’s what its all about…may we all have that desire to go up to the altar every week to make sure we’re right with Him…she is precious! 🙂
How awesome!!! What a sweet girl you have. Take care of yourself!!!
This made me tear up! So sweet!
Hope things will start slowing down for you this week (and that you don’t get full-blown sick!). 🙂
Sorry you’ve been sick, girl. Especially with the last minute Christmas things you need to get done.
Oh wow, she is amazing. So sweet. I pray for a tender heart like hers to be instilled in my little one.
Praying you are feeling better soon.
Thanks for sharing that post. I think children get it more than most adults do. We should give our hearts to Jesus every day!
Blessings and Merry Christmas
Best picture and post I’ve read all season long. Truly…
