I did a major closet cleaning this weekend. MAJOR.
I had to make some hard decisions.
Until now I have kept all my teaching supplies.
All of them … my books, posters, cut-out letters & borders for bulletin boards, curriculum aides, maps, transparencies, art project samples, craft supplies, and this …
See those?
My E-Z Graders … a teacher’s best friend.
I just couldn’t.
Do I know that I will teach again? No.
Do I miss teaching? Yes and no.
Do I miss the other stuff you have to do in teaching besides teaching? No.
Beau gave me permission to buy all new stuff should I go back to teaching. Really, he’s saying that just because he’s ready to make room in the garage for his soon-to-buy car by making me get rid of it all.
Other things I found that I’ll be keeping for sentimental reasons.
Me signing papers for my All-American Cheerleader nomination –
Autograph of Mikhail Baryshnikov’s ballet instructor, Bella Kovarsky … yeah, I took a class with her. She was one of the first to introduce the Russian teaching method of classical ballet to American dancers.
Dancing at the World’s Fair 1984 held in New Orleans … I’m on the front row along with a popular local news anchor.
It's just three little things… keep them 🙂
I can't get rid of my tap shoes. Will I be teaching dance again? Performing a wonderful soft shoe routine for an audience? Shuffling off to Buffalo?
NO.
I am the same way with homeschool things. I need to get rid of a lot of it, I KNOW that I won't need it again, so I am donating it to a new church school that is opening up. I am sure they will use it.
if you only had three things you have to keep…I say KEEP 'EM!!!
now can you come do my closets?! Pack Rat is my middle name!
those EZ Graders always made me WANT to be a teacher….note: I never became a teacher…but those EZ graders are still awesome I wouldn't throw them away, either:)
In all of MY teacher stuff, I don't have one of those EZ Graders…I need one! Oh, wait. I'm not teaching….OR using any of my teaching things. One day…
I love cleaning things out – it's fun to walk down memory lane.
Hey, you wanna clean my closets. I'll let you throw away anything you want! I just can't seem to do it.
My husband has a secondary education degree.
He is a loan officer.
We have an EZ Grader.
We are keeping it. Just in case 🙂
This is the 2nd blog post on cleaning out closets….is somebody trying to tell ME something?! 🙂
WOW, Baryshnikov's autograph!
