I had a lovely little night with my good friend, Sonia, last night. (You truly are one of my bestest friends. Â If I had a sister, I’d want it to be you.)
Anyway … enough mush.
We went to a little shindig down here called “Tinsels and Treasures” put on by the Junior League every year. It’s a whole shopping experience (they say). Think arts and crafts show, but upscale and expensive … lots of boutique-type stuff.
Can you believe the only thing we bought was food? You know … some dips and sauces. No shoes, clothes, jewelry … just food. Oh, and I bought a cook book (still food related).
Here are the yummies:
This mixed with Swiss cheese and cream cheese makes …

Something I wanted to buy just for the fun of it:

The “shopping experience” didn’t take us as long as we thought.
So, we went for a real shopping experience at Ross.
I bought these DKNY jeans for 29.99.

We then did this …
And ate their delicious bread and dipping sauce, salad, eggplant parmagiana, and mini-tirimasus.
Then, we were so excited to “The Women,” starring these ladies …
which was one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen.
The “funny” parts were not funny.
The story line was lame.
And we spent most of the time giggling about those facts instead of giggling at the movie itself.
Not to mention, the laughter that ensued due to Meg Ryan’s ridiculous lips … seriously, she looks like the Joker now. Her top lip doesn’t even move when she talks. I was mesmerized by it. It distracted me from a lot of what was going on in the movie. I’m not kidding. You’ve got to see her lips. That would be the only thing I would recommend about this movie. Go to see Meg Ryan’s freak lips. (OK, was that ugly? Sorry.)
Thanks for a great night, Sonia!
I heard that movie was HORRIBLE!
SO glad you found some great shopping deals! How fun!!!
Sounds like you had a great night with a great buddy. I need a night out with my buddy. Maybe next weekend!!
Hugs!
ps – love the jeans!
Thanks for the movie warning. I’ll save my $8 and see Mamma Mia again.
Looks like some spectacular finds at the Junior League shin-dig. Those girls really know how to find treats.
Ok, the No.2 spray…..too much.
Sounds like you had a great time!
Thanks for the WARNING about that movie – I was wondering if it was any good! I will definitely save my time, money and sanity.
I have a pet peeve – why in the world do Hollywood people think this big bee stung lips are attractive? Why do Hollywood Moms allow their little boys to grow their hair to unbelievable lengths – they look like little girls with stringy hair. O.k. another – what is the deal with all of the “gays” coming out?
Ok. I know that I listed more than one pet peeve – but I feel better now. I know you will understand!
Love you
I LOVE Girls Night’s Out! So great! You’re right…I would’ve been jealous of your trench coat! 🙂
Meg’s lips are freaky…and I’ll wait until the Women goes to the $2.00 theatre in my town…thanks for letting me know in advance! 🙂
Why would she do that to her lips? Thats what made her Meg Ryan!!! I was going to see this movie but might skip it now….thanks..
Wow, what an awesome Girl’s night out you had! those are the best aren’t they?
~Tiff
Really hope you get the chance to see Fireproof, it’s well worth the money! Make sure you take tons of tissues with you, everyone was bawling their heads off and you couldn’t even hear the movie sometimes through the sniffling! LOL
So way fun! I am itching to get out for a girls night! It has been too long… 🙂
I’m thinkin I would lOVE that coat!
I heard that movie was bad- glad I didn’t waste $ on it! I will save my $ for Beverly Hills Chihuahua!
The poo spritzer?? Hilarious!
Those junior league women will find anything! 🙂
Ok, I want to see the jacket. I am already jealous without seeing it, so you might as well post a pic.
What a fun girl night! I used to live minutes from TJ Maxx & Ross. You could walk from one store to the other. It was divine. Your trench sounds equally divine! The No 2 was a hoot *L*
I totally agree with you that “The Women” was a horrible movie. I went with my grown daughter and her roommate when I was visiting during my “Ike-break”. I usually like almost all the actresses. Not in this movie! Annette Bening was awful, Debra Messing just seemed too goofy, and you’re so right about Meg Ryan! What a waste of time and money. Plus the popcorn was stale!!!
Oh, I forgot to tell you… did you know the Junior League here has a consignment store that’s open year round? You have to be a member of the Junior League to donate to it. I’ve never been but I’ve heard it’s really high-end stuff for super cheap. Just another reason to come to NOLA… 😉
I’ve wondered and wondered about htis movie. The preview looked so good! Sigh.
You have my complete agreement about this! Didn’t like it, wasn’t funny, don’t waste your money! oh, well, you already did, but at least you had some laughs! We had a fun girls night out as well…in spite of the stinky movie.
Blessings!
