Here are the girls ready for their first day. I think we may be single-handedly keeping Disney in business – Hannah Montana messenger bag and lunch box, Camp Rock messenger bag and lunch box. Personally, I would have preferred Hello Kitty or just a plain ol’ Jansport bag. But, of course, Mom does not know what’s cool.
So, they’re gone for the day and I actually already miss them, even though they were starting to drive me a bit insane with their bickering.
I sent them off with … “Today is the first day of the year,” which didn’t make any sense. K Belle said, “You just said it’s the first day of the year.” Thanks, Smarty pants. I rephrased … “I mean, today is the first day of the best school year you ever had.” Better.
So, what shall I do today? Shall I get a massage? A pedicure? Go to lunch with friends? Shopping? Just simple relaxing?
NO.
I’m still doing the same thing I was doing before … laundry, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, reorganizing the entryway closet, cooking, toting kids around. Same thing. Nothing’s changed. Actually life has just gotten a little more hectic … school, soccer, piano, dance, church, and lots of school activities.
Excuse me, while I watch Jennifer Lopez explain how she’s training for a triathlon after just giving birth to twins. Seriously? Now, I feel more like a failure than before. Thanks, Jennifer.
just look at those cuties!! I wish mine had uniforms (kind of). My sis got one of those messenger bags. She was CONVINCED she had to have one. After a day or so she decided it was the worst "back pack" on earth & opted for the previous year's Pink Panther back pack. School starts on the 2nd here. I'm trying not to think about going back to work.
Look at them with their bags and lunch boxes, all ready to go. I don’t blame you for missing them a little. And yeah, I can imagine that your day hasn’t changed all that much…it isn’t like you have hours and hours to squander on yourself. Although, a pedicure? That sounds lovely. You should do that.
I don’t want to hear about Jennifer training for a marathon. That is just depressing.

Very cute! M kids wear uniforms to school and are only allowed to use plain trappers w/ no pics, no backpacks or messenger bags allowed.
Otherwise, they’d have Jonas Bros. and Camp Rock on everything. The 1st day of school is so exciting for kids, and you can see it in your girls’ faces . We send our 2 back on Sept. 2nd. and I’m gonna miss them!
There’s an award and a tag waiting for you over at my blog, enjoy!
Girls look super cute on the first day of the year! hehe

Aw…sniff-sniff. My eldest begins 1st grade on Thursday. Sniff-sniff.
And JLo can kiss crack…did you see that horribly offensive photo spread she did in People after the twins were born? Yeah, all new moms prance about in silk dresses, drippingin diamonds, pushing $5000 prams around their palatial estate. I literally threw up in my mouth when I saw those pictures.
Not that I have an opinon on it or anything…
Don’t they look great!
And I thought school was the time of year when moms got to sit around and watch soaps. You’re saying it’s not like that?
Doing the same thing I was doing before, only a little more hectic–yep, that’s my life in a nutshell with all my kids back in school!
Here via Sarah at Life in the Parsonage…and glad I dropped by!
Blessings,
Lisa
