The real word is superfetation.
Never heard of it?
Me neither.
It’s when you get pregnant while you’re pregnant.
Huh?
Yeah, that was my thought.
What kinda crazy freak of nature does that?
Well, mostly animals, but in very rare cases … VERY RARE cases, it could happen to a human.
And, it did people.
Not in India or China. No. Only in Arkansas.
The top story on Yahoo yesterday was all about it. I thought it was fascinating.
So, ladies, be forewarned: Pregnancy is not a form of birth control. You CAN get pregnant while you’re pregnant. Crazy.
Here’s the story.
This is not a concern for me anymore.
Menopause is knocking on my door and Beau is like 85 years old … OK, more like 62.
Just remember … I warned you.
That is crazy.. I remember hearing about a woman that had 2 sets of reproductive organs but not this..
WWWOOOOWWW. That is crazy!! Maybe SHE should be Superwoman, lol! 😉
Wow! wow!
okay–I learned something new today.
only in my state!
however, this did happen in england once too. I remember reading about it.
Oh my word. Seriously. How does that even…I mean…I can't even form a sentence. I'm speechless. That's just weird.
Thanks for giving those of us still in the child bearing years something to worry about 🙂
Whaaaaat?!?!
speechless.
I have to say that I so appreciated the specialist for her referral to the babies as babies! even when she referred to them as embryos she called them children and that is nice to hear today. Most of these specialists interviewed on the news are not so personal and kind toward a fetus as a person.
That is crazy. And slightly scary (if it were to happen to me). 🙂
Wow. I've never heard of that.
Oh. My. WORD!
Can you imagine the conversation telling your husband that your prego, AGAIN! WOW!
Can you imagine the conversation telling your husband that your prego, AGAIN! WOW!
That is absolutely ridiculous…..I mean seriously. SERIOUSLY!
SO crazy….only in arkansas 🙂
They're going to have to call them "twins" as these kids grow up…how far apart are they? "Like a month"…thats just ridiculous.
Strange. Never heard of it til yesterday!
I went to high school with a set of "twins" that were conceived this way… a boy and a girl. The girl was conceived about 2 months (I believe) into the pregnancy and so he was born on time, and she was premature. 🙂
I've been freaked out by that possibility ever since!
Oh good grief. Will the terrors never cease?! I'm hoping they have the same father…
Now I am doubly scared. What a surprise for that woman.

Yes, I heard about this. Crazy!
People look at me like I'm nuts when I tell them our kids are 11 months apart. I could not imagine telling them that story!!
CRAZY!
What the heck??? this is so fascinating to me – who knew?? I can't imagine having this happen, although at this point, I'd welcome even this. 😉
