That’s how yesterday started.
I woke up with a wicked stomachache and powdered sugar residue on my pajamas.
Yep. Let me paint a picture for you.
You know you’ve had a good time the previous night when you see something like that.
I made the decision to live it up big time the night before my official half-marathon training started, which was yesterday. And, by “live it up,” I mean a night filled with multiple Parenthood episodes, a bag of powdered donuts (not the nasty Bluebird ones, but the yummy Tasty Kakes) shared with the roomie, gummie bears, and Flaming Hot Cheetos.
Despite my junk food hangover, I got my butt on the road yesterday morning for Day One of training … 40 minutes running in the sizzling Louisiana summer heat. Miserable.
And, now begins the long journey (12 weeks to be exact) to another half-marathon. Then, if all goes as planned and I accomplish the additional training injury-free, a full marathon. That thought scares me half to death.
But … I will try.
First things first … survive training and another half, recover, then continue training for the full {insert loud crying and whining sounds here) … all while trying to stay away from powdered donuts.
