Yep. They’ve been gone since Monday. Gone to camp until Friday.
It’s like Beau and I are newlyweds again.
Well … not really …
Our days have not changed much because, after all, we still have to work.
But, our nights … hold onto your hat … have been filled with the massive excitement of what Netflix series to watch next. Beau (and I quote) said last night, “Our lives are pretty boring now that ’24’ is over.” Kinda ridiculous, huh?
We watched AMC’s, “The Killing” in a matter of days and are now on a new search for the next best thing.
But enough of that … On a good note, we’ve gotten our workouts in and the house has been amazingly quiet & pretty clean. I haven’t really had to cook because we’re easy peasy when it comes to that. I’m good with a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios and Beau with pretzels & hummus.
I figure I’ll really start missing the girls today some time.
Or maybe tomorrow.
Is that wrong?
They’re having a good time. We’re having a good time. It’s all good.
But, come Thursday, I’ll be anxious to see them. Come Friday, about two hours after they’re home, I’ll probably be separating them because of they’re arguing or sending them to their rooms for sassy mouths. Ah … the life of a parent.
But, for now, this time alone with my Beau is quite nice. It’s quite relaxing and quite fun.
We dined over burgers & fries last night in peace.
It made me happy. And, hopeful for our future.
If it's bad or weird, we're right with you. That's exactly how we are when the kids are gone and I must say I look forward to it.
Sometimes it's just the little things that make life so sweet. I love that quote! Dr. Seuss is spilling over with wisdom! Enjoy the rest of your week. :-)ceivor
