I’m sure you all have been to her blog. She’s like the head cheerleader/student council president/ prom queen of blogging. She probably won’t know that I’m even giving her any props, but oh well, she deserves it.

If you haven’t seen her cooking blog, go here. It’s filled with yummy recipes. The tomato soup was quite delicious. I also made her apple dumplings, which were super yummy. There’s a few other recipes I’ve tried and I’ve never been dissatisfied. So, thanks Pioneer Woman, even though you don’t know I exist. You rock!
So, in honor of Pioneer Woman, I will list the things I know or love about the pioneers:
1. They had some horses, maybe even wagons.
2. They had no electricity.
3. They lived in a little house, possibly on the prairie.
4. They walked to school, 8 miles, uphill, in the snow, both ways, according to most grandfathers.
5. They used kettles, not pots and pans.
6. Children called their parents, “Pa” and “Ma.”
7. They had spirit, hence the phrase “He had a pioneer spirit.”
8. I think Davy Crockett was one.
9. The women wore bonnets and the men wore suspenders.
10. If they wanted a barrel, which they often did, they went to see the cooper.
That just about does it. Thanks, pioneers for paving the way for us.
