Our family has this thing we do.
We do it when we go on vacation.
We do it when we go to any event.
We do it when we go to any movie.
We do it at any time on any given day.
One of us says, “What was your favorite part of the day (or event, or movie, etc.)?”
I love this.
Example: My favorite part of Monday was when I sat down in front of the fireplace, in my pajamas, after a hot shower, with homemade hot chocolate and watched “Home Alone” with the family.
Beau’s favorite part of yesterday was watching La Petite Belle go down the higher level ski slope for the first time.
Get it?
Well, after Beau beat us all in putt-putt,
and our expensive visit to the worst wax museum ever (the girls begged us to go because they had never been to one, but we barely recognized half of the wax figures),
(Of course, Beau was miserable, especially after paying almost $50.)
I’d definitely say my favorite part of the day was having Love Potion #31 at Baskin Robbins with the family (all sporting our new fake designer sunglasses).

Looks like you’re having fun. Love the girls posing like the wax figures. Very cute!
Girl! That wax museum IS the WORST! Hubby and I went there in the fall of 2007 shortly after it opened. Totally the pits. Very expensive. Have y’all ridden go-carts? I would have ridden go-carts at every single place…except I was preggers at the time. I was totally bummed. Safe travels back home.
This is so cute! I’m in love with BR peanut butter and chocolate! YUMMO!
I’m totally digging the sunglasses. AWESOME!!!
And I would not be able to do wax museums!! I went to one in Hot Springs, and, crazy me, it freaked me out!
You are all totally rockin’ those knock off frames!
I love this because we do the same thing. Anytime we go anywhere everyone has to go around and say their favorite part. I’m glad someone else does this. My kids love it. We don’t have Baskin Robbins anymore. BooHoo! They all closed.
I was just catching up on your posts. Where did you guys go? Gatlinburg? You know that is only 3 hours from us. I know Wonderworks is in Sevierville but I’m not sure it is a chain that is why I ask.
Yummy!
My favorite part of today’s blog post is Beau’s face at the wax museum!! Priceless!
We totally have that tradition too. At the end of every day When Dave and I are tucking in the boys we ask them each “What was your favorite part of the day?”
It is a hoot to hear what each one has to say. K and Jay come up with great answers. Noe, being only 2, usually says something really bizarre and most of the time, made up. Like “When we were at the hotel”. That’s what he said every night last week. Yeah – we haven’t been to a hotel since Christmas, but whatever.
Loved seeing these pictures!!
Glad you’re having fun.
I’ve never had BR. I wouldn’t like the Love Potion because I hate white chocolate. That Peanut Brittle Caramel Crunch sounds good, tho!
I’ll never forget the time we took our kids to a wax museum when they were little. The wax figures scared my daughter to death, but the thing that did her in was the weird glass/mirror elevator. The inside of the elevator was all glass/mirrored squares, the floor, walls and ceiling and let me tell you, this was enough to throw her over the edge. We got in the elevator, the door closed and she started screaming and freaking out. Poor thing was terrified and had had enough. Needless to say we never went to another wax museum. 🙂 Looks like you had a fun day, despite the boring museum!
Mmmmmmm. Love Potion #31 sounds dreamy! If only we had a Baskin Robbins. 🙁
LOVE Wizard of Oz. It’s always been my fav.
that ice cream looks incredible. And we went to a terrible and terribly expensive wax museum (wack museum, if you ask us) in Wisconsin.
Every vacation needs a day where you waste money on a tourist trap…LOL
Sounds like a fun time.
Our drive was uneventful. Just like I like it.
We do the same thing!
Love it!
Fam traditions are what keep us together.
Love ’em!
Hope you’re NOT breaking a leg!
Sounds SO good! I haven’t seen a Baskin Robbins in a long time. But I remember getting bubble gum ice cream when I was a kid from there before the place closed.
