The years go by so quickly.
When I was younger, I didn’t think so. But, now, I blink and, not only am I older, but so are my girls. (Well … {in the words of Simon Cowell} “If I’m being honest,” … I forget that I’m older until SO MANY of my good friends remind me that I’m not as young as I used to be so … I can’t wear glitter eye shadow or … shouldn’t display my dance skillz that were once popular 20 years ago. Whatever. I still feel EXACTLY the same … only with a creakier knee but a whole lot more wisdom.)
It seems like just yesterday I was writing a post about K Belle turning 14 and going into high school. Well, here I am again and now it’s 15, heading into her sophomore year. Wow.
Each year I continue to be amazed at who she is and can see even more clearly the hand of God on her life. I find myself becoming anxious when thinking about all the possibilities in store for her.
You already know that she’s amazingly talented because I brag here all the time about it. I could go on and on about that because I truly think she’s got an incredible gift. Beau and I are often floored by what we hear in the way of her music and her voice, especially at such a young age. Now, as she matures, so do her talents. I hear it in her voice and her writing. She’s really good, y’all. Really good.
But, whether she could paint the world’s most beautiful picture or write the most incredible song or sing the most amazing notes really is secondary to who she is as a person. I love the person that she is and the woman of God that I see her becoming.
Happy Birthday, baby girl! I love you!
